A lot of adults find that clothing tags, seams, fabrics, or fit are not background details. They are a steady, low-level distraction that sits in awareness all day. Taking that seriously is not vanity. It is practical recovery management.
The label that scratches at the back of the neck. The seam at the toe that is now the only thing your brain wants to think about. The waistband that was fine in the shop and is now louder than the meeting. By the end of the day, you have spent more energy adjusting your clothes than you realised.
Pre wash and stretch new items before deciding. Cut out tags. Choose flat seams or softer fabrics where the budget allows. Build a small core wardrobe of items you know are quiet and rotate them. Treat dressing as a regulation choice, not a styling one.
